Mothers Union meetings are held in Church House on the third Tuesday of every month at 10.30 a.m. We begin with coffee and biscuits and our invited speaker usually takes over about 10.50. The meeting closes at 12 with the MU mid-day prayers, which are part of our MU Worldwide Wave of Prayer.
We hold a Quiet Morning at this time during Lent and Advent. On the first Wednesday of every month the mid-week Communion service held at St Martin's(10.30a.m.) is our Branch's Corporate Communion. A MU member reads the lesson and another leads the worldwide prayers.
A summer afternoon meeting includes tea and cakes and some musical items when we invite women's groups and friends from all denominations in the town and MU members from the Epsom Deanery. We enjoy good relationships with all these people and are invited back in return.
Our annual summer outing is open to all and much appreciated.
At present we have 24 members. Visitors are warmly welcomed to all our meetings and we are a friendly bunch of people. Many of us carry out tasks within the church and we receive support from our congregation. Our MU Banner shown above is used on special occasions and is hanging in the church for all to see.
Our mother church is the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit at Guildford and we attend the special MU services there whenever possible. There are also MU events in our Epsom Deanery.
