St Martin's Church Choir provides music for worship throughout the church year. The four-part choir aims to have 15-20 trebles and an equal number of adults. The choir sings at the weekly Sunday Eucharist, Choral Evensong, Choral Matins and on major Feast Days. The wide repertoire of music draws from the large Anglican heritage of music, from plainchant to newly composed works.
The Director of Music, Richard Dacey is always pleased to hear from prospective choir members. Considering the very fast turnaround of repertoire we ask that all adults members are able to read music and have a basic level of sight-reading, however we do not audition adult members.
Becoming a Choral Scholar at St Martin's is a fantastic opportunity for singers aged 15-21. Choral Scholars get the opportunity to immerse themselves in music making. This opportunity is ideal for students looking to develop thier sightreading and musicianship skills. Many of the top universities look favourably upon applicants from strong choral traditions.

The treble members of the choir are the driving force of the choir as the next generation of choral singers. The children in the choir are drawn from around the Parish and beyond and are not linked to a specific choir school. Choristers receive specialist training in choral singing and music theory as they progress through the choir.
