Christmas at St Martin's & St Stephen's

In addition to our normal pattern of services we also have a number of special events and services for Christmas. Everyone is invited to attend all of these services, and new faces are always welcome!

 

NOVEMBER

 

Saturday 26th - Friday 23rd Devember @ St Martin's

9.30am - 12.00pm everyday - Advent Prayer Journey - This Advent Prayer Journey uses the labyrinth idea of journeying inward to a still centre and then journeying outward back to the world. More details on the poster below.

 

Saturdy 26th @ St Martin's

11am - 3pm Christmas Fair - Cake, cards, gifts and much more will be on sale alongside games, a vintage railway and a ploughman's lunch with mince pies. See poster below.

 

Sunday 27th @ St Martin's

6.30pm Carol Service – A candlelit service exploring the themes of Advent through word, music, darkness and light.

6.30pm St Stephen’s Christmas carols - Christmas carols, readings and songs with festive refreshments

 

Saturday 17th @ St Martin's

10am - 12:30pm Christmas Messy Church - A fun morning of crafts and games for children accompanied by an adult.

 

Sunday 18th @ St Stephen's

9.30am Christmas Nativity - A Chance to share in the Christmas Nativity story in the lead up to Christmas Day

 

Sunday 18th @ St Martin's

6.30pm Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols – Traditional readings and carols with anthems from the choir.

 

Saturday 24th @ St Stephen's

3pm Christingle Service - Join together to make a Christingle and celebrate Jesus Christ as the Light of the World

3pm Toddler Crib Service* – The very popular, family orientated service to get into the mood for Christmas.

5pm Family Crib Service* – The very popular, family orientated service to get into the mood for Christmas.

11pm Christmas Eve Parish Eucharist ‘Midnight Mass’ – A special communion service that celebrates the first moments of Christmas.

8am Holy Communion (BCP Said Service)

10am Christmas Day Family Service – A chance for the family to meet and celebrate the birth of Christ together.

Wednesday 28th @ St Stephen's

7pm - St Stephen's Day Festival - Join us to celebrate our Patronal Festival, followed by seasonal refreshments

 

 

*Due to the popular demand of the crib service, we have two services to enhance the experience of all congregation members.  The 3pm service is aimed at children aged 0-4, while the 5pm service is aimed at children aged 4+, however, we do understand that families may have children of many ages so we invite you to attend whichever service you feel is most appropriate for your group!
