Contemplative Prayer 2016

Meets: 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11 am and on the 4th Thursday at 8 pm in St Martin's

The aim of the Group is to teach and to practise 'listening prayer'. The method used is that set out by the Fellowship of Contemplative Prayer. The meetings are almost always in the Church itself. Anyone who would like an hour or so of led meditation or contemplation and silence based on one of the sayings of God from the Old Testament or one of Jesus in the New Testament is very welcome.

Tuesday, 12th June, at 11 am and Thursday 28th June at 8 pm in St Martin's Church.  The 'saying' chosen for this month is from Matthew 18.20 Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.  Here is our purpose as a group, to listen to Jesus who is right there in the mist of us.

Tuesday, 10th July, at 11 am and Thursday 26th July at 8 pm in St Martin's Church.  This month, up and down the country, men and women will be ordained to serve in the Parishes.  At St Martin's we are praying for David who starts his ministry among us.  Mark 10.45 will be our starting point as we pray for him and for them I did not come to be served, but to serve
