Contemplative Prayer 2016

Meets: 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11 am and on the 4th Thursday at 8 pm in St Martin's

The aim of the Group is to teach and to practise 'listening prayer'. The method used is that set out by the Fellowship of Contemplative Prayer. The meetings are almost always in the Church itself. Anyone who would like an hour or so of led meditation or contemplation and silence based on one of the sayings of God from the Old Testament or one of Jesus in the New Testament is very welcome.

Tuesday, 11th September, at 11 am and Thursday, 27th September, at 8 pm.  In the great 'I am' sayings recorded by John, Jesus deals with the essentials of life, not least of which is 'bread'.  Many of us rely on this in our diet.  Jesus invites us to rely on him in John 6.51: 'I am the living bread ... which I will give for the life of the world.'  This will be our staring point for these September meetings.

Tuesday, 9th October, at 11 am and Thursday, 25th October, at 8 pm.  Luke 12.32: 'Fear not ... it is yur Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.'  Jesus tells us not to worry about material things.  God will provide for our needs.  He swants to lead us into the life of his Kingdpm.
