Remembering his Royal Highness Prince Phillip

We are all sadden to hear of the death of Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh yesterday morning. If you passed St Martin’s this morning you may well have heard the Tower Captain, Mike Bale, tolling the bell’s 99 times to mark this occasion.

The Union flag will be flying at half mast as soon as Mike is able to repair the broken halyard – at the moment the wind is too strong to allow him to repair this safely.

During our services tomorrow we will be formally marking the death of Prince Phillip with prayers and silence. You are welcome to join us either in the building at St Martin’s, or online as all of our services are live streamed.

If you would like to contribute to the national book of remembrance, this can be accessed online at https://www.churchofengland.org/remembering-his-royal-highness-prince-philip

The Duke of Edinburgh arrives for his visit to Richmond Adult Community College in Richmond, south west London.
